Slight obsession for knitting fruit…

Amidst all of the business of my summer I decided that I had to make some prototype projects for the club I’m starting next friday…yes next friday!! After searching for “fruit knitting patterns” on google I found this fruity trio…really easy to make (providing you can read a pattern - I used youtube tutorials for bits I didn’t understand) and look sooo good at the end.

I use mine as bag pins, they look particularly good on my cath kidston basket :D

ANNOUNCEMENT

Finally! through all of the mocking and raised eyebrows, knitting is cool! amongst the pages of vogue, top models sport a knitted dress or floor length woolen jacket…and it has apparently taken knitting years of abuse and neglect for people to finally realise it was nearly a lost art form, merely kept on a ventialtor by grannies!

However, now it has awaken from its coma, i have decided to celebrate i knitting revolution and i have started a completely non profit knitting club. All knitters pay a contributory fee of £1 to fund needles and wool and i devise a programme of things to make, from egg cups to cardigans (if theyre up for the challenge)

If anyone could post me any ideas, of things they think wouold be cool to knit, please let me know. Thank you for everyones support with my blog, im sorry things have been a bit slow recently.

Much love, Belles x

SORRY!!

right! i need to get my butt in gear!

admist all of the stress of a month of exams, working experience and working to earn money 34 hours a week, you can probably guess my time is a little short. I have so much to share and so many creations to make. If anyone can make me any requests or reccommendations of things to crochet i would be delighted!

I will post tonight and fill everyone in!

amorningcupofjo asked: Your msg: "your creations are incredible! do you sell them and how long have you been practising? :)"

Hi! Did I reply to your message? I'm so confused right now because I wrote down that I couldn't find your ask box (and I was going to add you to the replies that'll show up on my blog instead), but now I see it.. Maybe I've just been out of it all week because lack of sleep and missed it the first time I visited your blog. :( And now I'm rambling and not making sense... So anyway! Haha

Thanks for the initial compliment, but more importantly thank you soooo much for such a sweet shout out! I stumbled on your little amigurumi strawberry and my jaw dropped after I read the description. <3 I really hope I get to see many more lovely creations from you in the future. What will you be making next?? :)

As for my amigurumi, I taught myself a few years ago (and made some ugly animals haha) but stopped for a long time. So I've been practicing again since around October 2010! :) I've dreamed of starting a little online shop for these critters because I love crocheting, and it's looking like I might actually achieve that goal! It's still in the future, but I'm almost there. :)

Please come visit my ask box sometime and leave a message! (I never have the chance to see replies that aren't posted there)

Take care!
<3 Josephine

Yup! :) that was me! seriously you soo should! your stuff is incredible, i showed my mum and we were completely taken aback by some of the stuff that you have done :) by the way where do you get your patterns from?

Um well i just posted the hello kitty i attempted last night, she’s no where near as good as yours, i wondered if im using the wrong wool, because i looked on your projects and the wool that you use looks much stiffer, whereas im just using normal knitting wool :S ? haha. Im hoping to make some more fruit though because i think its the fruit that’s the best :)

After following A Morning Cup of Jo i was truly amazed by some of the things she has made (and i very much recommend that you take a look for yourself) i read on her tumblr that she learnt how to crochet from Youtube videos and patterns. Funding myself fully inspired i decided to do my bit of research last night. I found a really cute little pattern for making a strawberry and then embellished it using small beads to look like seeds. SO therapeutic and perfect relaxation whilst watching the apprentice :)
